It is 6pm on Monday afternoon and we decided to rest our feet in an internet cafe for a while. We have been walking nonstop for the last two days, and well worth every step. I absolutely love Paris!!! The food has been amazing, people have been very friendly (shocking?), and the city is beautiful. I dont want to go back to Spain! Here is a recap of the last few days.... i am apoligizing in advance for the mispelling... the keyboard is really different here.
We arrived on Saturday afternoon and by the the time we were settled in our hostel it was about 9pm. We had dinner at this little Italian restaurant next door (the most delicious pesto pasta in the world) and then dessert at another nearby cafe... equally amazing.
Sunday we visited the Louve musuem and saw the Mona Lisa, Wrath of Medusa, a lot of other paintings and French sculptures. It is the largest museum in the world so we stuck to the main attrqctions. We didnt realize this when we plqnned our day but it was the first Sunday of the month so admission was free and also very crowded! From there we took a walk through the Jardins de Toulins and along the river until we reached the Eiffel Tower. It is beautiful. we spent quite a bit of time walking around that area, taking pictures and admiring the city. Across the river is the Pallais de Challoit, which has a lot of steps, street vendors and musicians. we sat on the steps, facing the eiffel tower and Place de Fontenoy and had chocolate and banana crepes.... again, delicious. Then, we walked to the Arc de Triomph, down the famous Av Des Champes Ellyses and Av Montaigne (equilvalent of Madison Ave in NY), back through the Jardins de Tullieres and to our hostel. It was incredible... and incredible exhausting.
i am running out of time so i will tell you about our hostel and more about Paris when i get back to san Sebastian. Well, our hostel is located right next to the Louve which is in the middle of everything! Our room has concrete floors and walls, two sets of bunkbeds and a sink. the bathroom and shower is across the hall. Luckily it is not very busy this time of year so i think there is only a couple of other people using the same bathrooms. we are truly student travelers, which makes it fun, but i cant wait for a real shower. To use the shower you have to hold the button in like you would a sink in a public restroom. There are two features, off and on... no option to adjust the temperature haha. It is definitely a new experience for me, but it's worth it.
We wanted to see from the top of the Eiffel Tower at night so we are off to do that right now. I have a million pictures and will post them and more about Paris when I get back.
I am sad to leave tomorrow but it's probably a good thing that i didnt study in Paris the entire semester. I probably would have gained 100 pounds and never come home. Just Kidding :-)
I have always wanted to learn French but it is now and definite must do for me!
More to come... au revoir

Glad you had such a wonderful time! I can't wait to see the pictures, especially from the Eiffel Tower at night! I hope your travel back to Spain was uneventful and as expected.
